The Future100 program connects top talent with leading design firms across North America.

Launched in 2021 by METROPOLIS, the Future100 program celebrates the top 100 graduating students from architecture and interior design programs in the United States and Canada. These exceptional students gain direct access to METROPOLIS's extensive network of A&D firms, connecting a diverse and talented pool of candidates with leading architecture and design firms.

The most talented students from the class of 2025 apply, with nominations by instructors, professional organizations, and others. Application materials include testimonials from nominators, academic record, and portfolio.

 

How It Works and Why You Should Enter:

  • Expert Review: Student nominations will be evaluated by a panel of experts, led by METROPOLIS editor in chief Avinash Rajagopal.

  • Industry Exposure: Details of the selected Future100 students will be shared with and promoted to architecture and design firms, recruiters, and industry leaders nationwide.

  • National Recognition: Selected students will be featured in the Spring 2025 print issue of METROPOLIS, with recognition for their programs, nominators, and schools. They will also be highlighted on Metropolismag.com, our social media accounts, and partner networks.

  • Join an Esteemed Cohort: Now in its fifth year, the Future100 class of 2025 will join a prestigious group of 400 other working professionals across the United States and Canada, with direct access to one another for professional support and guidance.

  • Program and School Exposure: Schools, instructors, and programs will be showcased alongside the selected honorees to METROPOLIS and its partners' extensive network of A&D professionals and prospective students.

  • Exclusive Opportunities: Honorees will be invited to exclusive METROPOLIS events and programs across the country, gaining access to our team and network as valuable resources for educational and professional growth.

Students Who Should Apply/Seek Nomination:

  • Enrolled at public or private universities and colleges in the United States or Canada.
  • Enrolled in accredited architecture and interior design programs.
  • Enrolled in final studio courses (i.e., graduating in 2025) at undergraduate or graduate levels.
  • Working on studio-based or research-based projects.
  • In good academic standing (GPA 3.00+ or equivalent).

 

Key Dates:

  • December 2, 12:00 PM ET: Application Deadline
    Top students in architecture and interior design are invited to apply.

  • February 2025: Future100 List Selection
    METROPOLIS will evaluate nominees based on creativity, rigor, skills, and professionalism. Nominees and their schools will be notified of their selection status.

  • Spring 2025: Future 100 List Published & Students Connected with A&D Leaders and Recruiters
    METROPOLIS will showcase the selected students and their work to recruiters and leaders at top architecture and design firms. Schools, instructors, and nominators will be recognized alongside their students in both print (Spring: April/May Issue) and digital media.

Who can enter?
This program is open to undergraduate or graduate students graduating in 2025 (either in Winter or Spring) in the United States or Canada with an interior design or architecture degree.

How do I enter and what information do I need?
To participate, students should open an account by clicking HERE and submit their materials through the digital submission form. You can review the submission form and find a list of required materials HERE.  Please note that this link is only a guide for the materials you will need.

The application process requires you to provide personal information, school details, and nomination information. Specific criteria can be found via the link provided above. There are no strict requirements for portfolios, but ensure that the link you submit remains active for judging and potential inclusion on our website if honored.

Who completes the application form?
Students or professors can fill out the application form. If you are a student filling out the form, you will need to attach your nomination information. If you are a professor completing the application on behalf of your student(s), you will need to collaborate with them to gather the necessary information.

When are results published?
Results will be released privately to all entrants via email in February 2025 by editor in chief Avinash Rajagopal.  METROPOLIS will publicly release the results in Spring 2025, showcasing the selected students and their work to recruiters and leaders at top architecture and design firms.
